Maternity sessions will take place at an outdoor location in the Central Oregon area. We’ll work together to choose a location that is comfortable for you and your family and is appropriate for the age of your kiddos. Have a spot your family loves and frequents? That would be perfect! Newborn sessions will take place in the comfort of your home.

The best lighting and my favorite time to shoot is about an hour before sunset. I understand the longer days in the summer and fall make that difficult for littles. If you have younger kiddos an earlier morning session (before 10am) provides great lighting too.

Kids are often standoffish at first…it’s totally normal. I have a ton of tricks up my sleeve to interact and connect with your littles. I let the kids lead. If they don’t want to be held? We let them run ahead. They want to be held the whole time? We get lots of snuggly shots. They’re only happy holding a stick? We roll with it. We’re capturing your family as you are right now, in this season, and trust me you will love that it was captured. And 99% of the time I get natural smiles by the end.

I suggest picking a color palette and then build from there starting with mom’s outfit. For maternity shoots, plan on bringing 2-3 outfits. I’m here to help with styling too. Need help choosing a color palette, have some outfit ideas in mind but want some feedback? Just let me know and we’ll work together to find the perfect outfits. A quick tip…avoid bright colors and busy patterns. If it’s cold incorporate layers and jackets.
