Extended Family Session Redmond Oregon
As a family photographer, I always say that the best moments are with those you love. And when families come from different corners of the country to spend time together, those moments become even more special. That’s exactly what made this extended family session so meaningful!
This beautiful family traveled from out of town to be together, and they knew they wanted to document their time with a fun, natural, and heartfelt session. With young children, grandma, and multiple families involved, it was all about capturing their connection and joy.
We met at Cline Falls, in Redmond, Oregon, where the golden light filtered through the trees, creating the perfect warm and inviting backdrop. The goal? To capture the essence of their relationships—the laughter, the little hands gripping tightly, the playful swings, and the spontaneous hugs.
Right from the start, this family was all about fun. We started with a big group shot to get everyone warmed up, and from there, we let the magic happen. The little ones ran through the grass, held hands, and giggled as their parents and grandma chased, tackled, and lifted them high into the air. It was beautiful chaos, exactly as a family session should be!
One of my favorite moments was seeing the sweet embrace between grandma and her grandkids. There’s something so sweet about a grandma’s hug—it’s just so full of love. These types of images become treasured keepsakes, passed down for generations.
For extended family sessions, I love balancing a few classic posed portraits with plenty of movement and interaction. The kids ran hand-in-hand with their parents, dads tossed their little ones high into the air, and everyone took turns making the kids giggle. These images reflect real life—the way the family naturally connects and enjoys being together.
As our time came to an end, I could see just how much love this family shared. The kids had a blast, grandma soaked up the snuggles, and the parents got those precious, irreplaceable photos of their little ones at this exact stage of life.
Family photos aren’t just about the here and now—they’re about preserving this chapter in your legacy so it can be relived for years to come. And when a family makes the effort to gather and celebrate their bond, it’s an honor to capture it.
